CASA Wellness Counselor

About Laurel

At CASA we believe that holistic wellness is essential for the individual and integral to ensuring a thriving community. As an Expressive Arts Therapy and Drama Therapy practitioner, I am firmly rooted in the fundamentals of supporting each child and family with unconditional positive regard with a trauma informed, strength-based, relational approach. I have found therapeutic rapport to be an essential aspect of the healing process toward personal growth. While building this rapport, I assess for the core needs, strengths and values, address presenting problems, help with achieving symptom relief and assisting the child with realizing their goals. During my graduate education towards achieving a Master’s in Counseling Psychology and DramaTherapy, I provided group and individual counseling to youth that was attuned to each client’s inter-sectional backgrounds. As a clinician, I have served in traineeships with a variety of mental health facilities from community clinics and residential treatment centers to small politics nonprofits based in downtown San Francisco. I am also a life-long thespian and currently enjoy membership in various therapeutic theatre organizations in the Bay Area, including the world-renowned Living Arts Playback Theatre for five years and the site-specific Neighborly Project for three. Thank you for checking out this page and I look forward to supporting you and your child soon!
